"Freedom and Innovation" at the II Open Source World Conference

The second event will take place in Malaga again on 15th, 16th and 17th February 2006.
The motto of this new convention, "Freedom and Innovation", summarizes the aims of the conference: demonstrate that Free and Opensource Software is a consolidated reality, a powerful solution, strong and secure, capable of building up information systems in any organisation, and that, at the same time, it operates as a motivating force for civil integration, able to surmount social and economic barriers erected against the revolution of knowledge, placing open and high-quality computer developments at everyone's disposal. The main topics will be:

* How the Free and Opensource Software environment evolves, development methods, collaboration and cooperation.

* The Free and OpenSource Software as leverage for the use of open standard systems for free usage, interoperability, technological independence regarding information systems.

* Progress regarding licences for Free and Opensource Software: from GPL to Creative Common.

* Public administration liabilities in the use and development of the software for information systems and the knowledge-based society.

* Current trends in open technologies.

* The Free and Opensource Software as a key instrument in education and digital integration: tool, driving force of change and vector of ideas.

This perception serves to combine economic aspects with social factors and a viable vision of the future, and includes concepts with a formal content, as well as more practical and directly applicable functions.
