Ukrainian Lviv Institute for Business Informatics is a software development company in Ukraine (Lviv). ULIBIN was established in 1997. ULYBIN own one good experienced team of researchers and software developers, including 4 PhD. and some post-graduated students. The representatives of ULIBIN take part in developers team of ViSoft GmbH Stuttgart (Germany) and are involved in IST project “Conversational Multimodal Interaction with Computers” (Contract no: IST-2001-32311).
ULIBINs areas of interest are Management Information Systems, Data Base Related Internet Applications, 3D Graphic, e- learning, and IT specialist training. ULIBIN has well-established links with researchers at Ukrainian universities. Especially successful is scientific and
educational co-operation with National Polytechnic University of Lviv and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. ULIBIN has a long and
successful experience in delivering up-to-date software solutions (more as 100 different projects) to a wide range of European and North
American companies.
The participation of ULIBIN in tOSSad consortium enables to provide the usability research taking into account the mentality of users in East Europe and users of Cyrillic alphabet environment, especially of Ukrainian and Russian users. This ensured the compatibility of criteria and attack methods of F/OSS usability problem for enlarged amount of European users and enables wider application of usability test results. It will be possible to perform some usability tests for different groups of usual users with different skills: beginners, students, bookkeepers and so on. On the other hand is the participation in tOSSad consortium for ULIBIN of great importance. It make possible for ULIBIN team the rapid adaptation of the approach and methods of usability increment and further effective sharing of F/OSS technology in public management and
educational institution in the Ukraine.
