KnowNet is a small software and web services company located in Wales. It was founded in 2000 to research and develop new architectures, ideas and internet software for collaborative knowledge development and learning. KnowNet's goal is to work together with communities of knowledge and practice to develop architectures and processes for realising - in intranets and communities - the vision of an encompassing, expressive and active web of knowledge, work and communication.
Knownet's core mission is to understand clients' needs and practices and to produce excellent and usable systems to meet those needs. Company's secondary mission is to develop, alongside these applications, the real-world experience needed to help shape a truly useful and interactive global web within the standards-development process.
Knownet has successfully finished Electronic Evaluation System for VET (EVAL) in June 2002 funded by European Commision DG Education and Culture.
